Giselle,Naomi, Kate, Cindy...they're all models known by first name.  And then there's Christopher...yeah he's a model too!

 Christopher is a model signed to Ugly New York. Ugly New York is a model/talent agency that represents all DIFFERENT looks. Simon Rogers opened the agency, which is an affiliate of an agency in London called Ugly Models, last summer. The agency was started because in the advertising industry consumers are able to relate to a model that looks like Christopher rather than Marcus Schenkenberg. He scouts for tall, short, fat, thin and everything in between, Rogers also did mention even 'people who've really been hit with the ugly stick'. He looks for uniquness and authenticity. His agency provides clients with any thing from the bizarre to the beautiful. And you'll be suprised to know that nonfashion advertising does make up a bulk of the industry.

      Some say that companies use these everday looking models to defeat cost of the super models that walk the runways... they make a third of what an average model makes. Others say they're casted based on what will appeal to everyone looking at their ads. Kathy O'Brien, the marketing director for Dove, says that using ordinary models Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty wasn't an attempt to cut cost but a way to adhere to the overall mission of the company: to build self-esteem amoung young girls.

 So pay attention to the next commercial you watch on TV... or advertisement you see in a magazine and then tell your great aunt Estel that she can be a model too!
