The beard, the long hair, quitting acting to become a rapper, is this real?  I'm sure many people are asking this question, what is going on with Joaquin Phoenix? Well, IMDB states the actor is filming a documentary about his transition from actor to rapper.  The film is being directed by his brother in-law Casey Affleck. 

We know how Joaquin dedicates himself 100% to a film and his character, could this be a stunt?  After his latest apperance on the Late Show with David Letterman (view below), I say yes, it's all for the film.  This is one actor that I truly admire and love, and if this is real, Joaquin call me, we need to talk.  But, I think he know's what he's doing.  I think there are many people around who love him and wouldn't let him fall. I think he will have the last laugh. 

If he was retiring from acting to be a singer, I might believe it, but a rapper?  Come on!  He has a great singing voice, but he is no Eminem.  I'll leave you with a Joaquin quote from IMDB, "Acting.
