Charlie Sheen's temper is back at it again. This time prompting the exit of actress Selma Blair off of the actor's show "Anger Management" (maybe he should take a cue).
Rumors swirled around the actor and co-star Selma Blair after TMZ reported that Blair had gone to exec's on the show complaining that Sheen was impossible to work with and complaining he was always late. When Sheen got wind of the meeting, he made his ultimatum, either fire her from the show or I will not return. TMZ broke the story saying they were told it all started when Selma complained to "AM" execs that Charlie was a menace to work with -- claiming he's late all the time and has a shoddy work ethic.
According to them, they were told Charlie felt Selma was out of line considering he's the star of the show. And he specifically referenced himself learning 40 pages of lines per episode compared to her 2. But sources close to Sheen told TMZ the actor did more than just complain ... he told everyone HE FIRED SELMA altogether. Charlie then made it clear to "AM" honchos ... if Selma shows up to set Monday -- when the show is scheduled to shoot -- he'll refuse to work. And TMZ was also told Charlie wanted to extend an offer to Mila Kunis for a 10 episode arch ... at $1 million per episode!
Well, In a surprising turn of events, Lionsgate released a statement late Tuesday confirming the actress had departed the FX show. "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to Anger Management and we wish her the very best," the studio said in a brief statement.
On the show, Blair played Kate, a fellow therapist/"friend with benefits."Blair's departure comes while the comedy is about halfway through completing its 90-episode order from FX.
This isn't the first time Sheen has had controversy on the set of one of his shows. He was fired from CBS' "Two and a Half Men" in 2011 after clashing with producers. In an eleven page letter that Warner Bros. sent to Sheen's attorney, they stated that "[Charlie Sheen] has been engaged in dangerously self-destructive conduct and appears to be very ill." Continuing, the letter then describes the public antics that Sheen has been involved in,- including the continuous attacks against Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre. To make sure that Sheen knew exactly why he was being fired from the series - and why having a no morals clause in his contract doesn't mean a thing - Warner Bros. explained that they are able to terminate anyone who has committed "a felony offense involving moral turpitude." "There is ample evidence supporting Warner Bros. reasonable good faith opinion that Mr. Sheen has committed felony offenses involving moral turpitude (including but not limited to furnishing of cocaine to others as part of the self-destructive lifestyle he has described publicly) that have ‘interfere[d] with his ability to fully and completely render all material services required' under the agreement."
That didn't keep the actor down though, he coined the term "winning" and went about his life. He was on quite a ride for a while making headlines everywhere he turned with his odd behavior. The actor has always been a part of some controversy but this time, it appears Sheen was not going to tolerate anyone's opinion of his work ethnic. As for who if anyone will replace the actress, no word is out just yet.
If you haven't had enough of the Scream films, you will have the chance to see it on the small screen!
MTV has officially announced that they are moving forward with a pilot based on Scream! They announced show by The Following creator Kevin Williamson's wildly popular horror film franchise at their Upfront presentation in New York City this past Thursday.
It is being reported that MTV and Dimension Film's one-hour pilot will attempt to reinvent the horror-comedy. The film also spawned three sequels. The first film, Scream, hit the screen back in 1996. The film was about a killer known as Ghostface begins killing off teenagers, and as the body count begins rising, one girl and her friends find themselves contemplating the "Rules" of horror films as they find themselves living in a real-life one. The film brought in an impressive 162 million dollars worldwide. The film only brought in 6.35M in it's opening weekend but became a cult classic. The film starred Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
A year after the Scream was released, the 2nd film came out. The box office numbers jumped to a cool 33 million opening weekend. The film went on to gross 172 million worldwide. In the second film titled simply Scream 2, two years after the events of the first film, a new psychopath dons the "Ghost face" costume and a new string of murders begin. This time Jada Pinkett Smith, Omar Epps, Heather Graham and Liev Schreiber filled the cast and Neve Campbell returned in the starring role of Sidney Prescott, David Arquette in the role of Dewey Riley and Cox returned to reprise her reporter role of Gale Weathers.
Scream 3 was released 3 years later in 2000. The film brought back the original starring roles yet again with Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Arquette. In the third film Ghostface pays Sidney and her friends a third visit while they visit the set of "Stab 3". Surprisingly the film opened at 34.7 million and still managed to bring in 152 million worldwide.
11 years later, we were given a Scream 4. The film was shot in Michigan. Craven added Kristen Bell, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts and Lucy Hale to the cast. The film notably did not do as well as the other three films, but didn't totally tank either. It opened with 18.7 million and grossed 73.7 million to date. In this film ten years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer.
While we don't know if we will see a Scream 5, we may just get the show. Once the pilot is finished we will find out if it will be picked up. In a press release issued by MTV, the network notes the partners and Dimension Films are in talks with the original film's director, Wes Craven, to direct the one-hour pilot; there's no deal yet for a writer. If ordered to series, Scream would debut in the summer of 2014.
Last season of the X Factor was a thrilling one for us here at One Source Talent. If you didn't already know one of our talent Diamond White was a contestant on the show and made it to the Top 5!
Diamond became a talent with us back in 2006. At just 8 years old, the soulful cutie came into our office shining like a star and totally blew us away when she belted out a song. We just knew she had something special and as it turns out a lot of other people agreed. We sent her information, headshot and a dvd of her singing to casting associates for the Broadway production of The Color Purple in New York City. Casting directors were impressed and asked Diamond and her mother to attend a casting in the city. She and her mom hopped in the car and headed out. While the casting team though she was amazing, they also thought she was a bit too young for the role, so they decided to send her to Chicago to audition for their production of the show. They jumped back in the car and headed straight to Chicago for another audition. Diamond blew the casting director away and she was offered a one year touring contract with the show. She renewed again for a second tour. When she was finished, she headed to Las Vegas and appeared in the show The Lion King. Once she was finished, her mom wanted to move to Los Angeles so Diamond could pursue other opportunities. Diamond was auditioning but wasn't getting a whole lot of work. She had done several voice over jobs including voice work for the tv shows Phineas and Ferb, Transformers: Rescue Bots and most recently Sofia the First. Diamond's mom decided to take her to an open call for Fox's the X-Factor. Who would have known what was to come!? Diamond made all of the cuts. She was chosen to be a part of team Britney (mentor Britney Spears). She was cut shortly after making it to the top 10. That didn't mark the end of her time on the show however as the judges saved her and brought her back! Diamond held on and made it to the Top 5.
We don't know if Diamond will make any special appearances on this year's show, but we what do know is host Khloe Kardashian will not. Fox announced on Monday that Season 2 co-host Mario Lopez will return for Season 3 of "The X Factor" while E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian won't be back. "I'm looking forward to returning to 'The X Factor' team," said Lopez. "We're coming back stronger and better than ever and I'm excited to check out all the new talent." "I'm thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of 'The X Factor,'" said executive producer and judge Simon Cowell. "Hosting a live show and keeping the judges - especially Demi - in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he's coming back."
Regarding the Keeping Up with the Kardashian's star Fox released this statement "Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host 'The X Factor.' We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
Director Martin Scorsese and Miramax have announced that they are in development for a TV series that is set to be based on the film Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis film, "Gangs of New York".
The film came out back in 2002 when it was released by Miramax. The film scored a whopping 10 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Daniel Day Lewis), Best Director (Martin Scorsese), and Best Writing, Original Screenplay and 6 more!
The film takes place in 1860's lower Manhattan, the Five Points section is a dark, teeming corner of the city known for vice and chaos. Into this frontier of lawlessness arrives the young Irish American, Amsterdam Vallon. Amsterdam is the orphaned son of the slain Priest Vallon--once chief warrior of the Dead Rabbits gang that rallied the Irish immigrants of the Five Points. After 16 years in a "House of Refuge," Amsterdam has returned to the Five Points to hunt down his father's killer. His target is William Cutting (aka "Bill the Butcher") who has since become the merciless new leader of the neighborhood and detests the newly arrived immigrants. Each year, on the anniversary of Priest Vallon's death, the victory is commemorated with a celebration--with invitations handed out by way of the Butcher himself. Amsterdam's plan is clear: to lie in wait and slay his father's killer. While waiting for that night, Amsterdam works his way deep into the Butcher's inner circle, a world of alternating honor and cruelty from which he can only hope to escape. But the closer he gets to Bill, the more he falls under his spell and becomes conflicted--playing the role of the man's surrogate son while keeping the true secret of his past in the shadows. At the same time, Amsterdam meets Jenny Everdeane, an enigmatic pickpocket whose fierce independence fascinates him. When details of her closely linked past with Bill the Butcher emerge, the relationship between the three intensifies. Amsterdam's fight for family honor, freedom and the woman he loves ultimately collides with a pivotal moment in New York and American history: the 1863 Civil War Draft Riots. This uprising, fueled by new Americans like Amsterdam, will have repercussions that will spread through the Five Points to the halls of Government and beyond, and reveal a tenacious spirit in the city that endures.
The show will look at gang activity at the turn of the century in New York as well as Chicago and New Orleans, serving as a portrait of the birth of organized crime in America. "This time and era of America's history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two hour film. A television series allows us the time and creative freedom to bring this colorful world, and all the implications it had and still does on our society, to life. I am excited to partner with Miramax in telling these stories," said Scorsese in the release announcing the new project.
No word yet on casting or when the show will be filmed.
It's hard to believe that we are about to enter the 16th season of Dancing with the Stars. The new cast has been revealed.
This season's cast will include country music legend Wynonna Judd, former American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler, reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump and NFL star Jacoby Jones.
Jones isn't the only athlete on the show, the cast also includes Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, professional boxer Victor Ortiz, and figure skating legend Dorothy Hamill. Comedians D.L. Hughley and Andy Dick, as well as "General Hospital" star Ingo Rademacher, and Disney star Zendaya Coleman round out the star-studded cast.
Wynona Judd will be teamed up with Tony Dovolani. D.L. Hugley will be teaming up with Cheryl Burke. Jacoby Jones partner for the season is Karina Smirnoff. Lisa Vanderpump gets to dance with Gleb Savchenko. Funnyman Andy Dick will be hitting the floor with Sharna Burgess. Victor Ortiz is teaming up with pro dancer Lindsay Arnold, who is making her debut this season as a professional partner. Zendaya Coleman is paired up with dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Aly Raisman's new partner is Mark Ballas. Ingo Rademacher is getting the two-time champ Kym Johnson. Kellie Pickler will be sharing her dance moves with Derek Hough and Dorothy Hamill will team up with the Irish dancer Tristan MacManus.
The new season kicks off with a two-hour premiere on Monday, March 18 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC.
Finally, after eight years we will learn the true identity of who "the mother" really is! The show has been renewed for a 9th and final season. CBS and 20th Century Fox Television announced yesterday the series will in fact be back for a final season. All of the series regulars will return including Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, as well as series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.
We have all sat wondering and guessing over the past eight years the premise of the whole show, who is the mother!? It has been confirmed that she will finally be revealed this last season.
"Through eight years, 'How I Met Your Mother' has mastered the art of leading-edge comedy, emotional water-cooler moments and pop culture catch phrases," said Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment. "We are excited for Carter, Craig, Pam Fryman and this amazing cast to tell the final chapter and reveal television's most mysterious mother to some of TV's most passionate fans."
The series is by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and premiered on CBS in September 2005. Bays said about the final season, "We have a plan to bring back many people we've had on the show," Bays said. "Not to steal their idea, but I loved the 'Seinfeld' finale where you saw everyone that's ever been on the show. We have a way to do it that sort of fits in with the universe of our show." The wait will be over soon!!
