Frequently Asked Questions for Open Call Appointments

What should I bring to the open call?

Just bring in yourself but you may also bring mom and dad. But if you are under 18, you must bring in a parent with you.
If you have a comp card, 8 x 10, or a portfolio bring them in with you, if not it's ok.
Please do not bring infants or toddlers as they can be disruptive (you will be rescheduled).
Please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out some basic paperwork.

What should I wear?

We ask that you wear form fitted clothing to be able to take your basic measurements.
Wear Heels
Hair down with little to no hair products
No hats/No bandannas
Make-up should be light and natural

Please make sure your clothes are not to loose or baggy. Jeans and a polo or button down is perfect.
Please avoid gym shoes or flip flops if possible.

What's going to happen once I get there?

We will be taking your basic measurements, a couple of photos and there will be a brief presentation explaining who we are, who we work with, and what we do. Afterwards, we will conduct a short one on one interview to determine whether or not you will be a good fit. The process will last over an hour. All of your questions will be answered at the open call.

Am I too old for this or do I have to be a certain size?

No there is a market for almost everyone, we work with ages 4 and up. Even if you watch TV commercials, you see all different kinds of people in them. From moms, dads, teenagers, kids, etc.
Even with celebrities there is a wide range of them from Sean Connery, Denzel Washington, Jennifer Aniston, Queen Latifah, Adam Sandler, Dakota Fanning, etc

Can I bring my friend in with me to the open call?

If you're friend is also interested in being evaluated, they will have to fill out an application on our website and be invited in. Our open calls are by invitation only.

I cannot make it to my appointment. Can I reschedule?

Due to the amount of people we speak to everyday, rescheduling an appointment can be a difficult process. We encourage you not to reschedule. In case of an emergency, you would need to call your local office before your appointment time to see if any arrangements can be made.

When or how fast can I expect to get jobs with OST?

Try and maintain realistic expectations, do not underestimate your potential, rather assess your potential and set reasonable goals. Not many people start out as a model and/or actor and make a full time career out of it instantly. Often new models and/or actors start out with unrealistic expectations and the second they find out that they will not be an instant success, they give up. Do not give up; you get out of it what you put in. Being in the entertainment industry requires professionalism, reliability and dedication. For an aspiring talent to be successful it is crucial to be knowledgeable and informed about the industry guidelines and requirements. The competition is steep, generally several models if not hundreds are submitted for the same job and not everyone can get the job. There are no guarantees.

Can I use the portfolio/professional photos I have or do I have to get my pictures through your company or photographer?

If you already have professional photos that you have taken you are more than welcome to use them, but they must be recent and look like you at this time. If you do not have professional photos yet we do have photographers contracted through our company that are available to our talent.
